A Message from the Chair of Governors

29 May 2020 (by administrator)

To Parents and Carers of Children attending Swan Lane First School

I find myself writing this letter during an extraordinary time. It is fair to say that not one person could have reasonably predicted Covid19 and the impact that it would have on the world. We are all playing our part by following Governmental advice; adapting our lifestyles and making sacrifices to help each other in a great show of national unity.

Over the last weeks Swan Lane has been accommodating children of Key Workers and other eligible groups; providing the safest possible environment with strict adherence to Government guidelines. The Staff continue to put themselves forward to further this essential work.

We thank our Acting Head, the Senior leadership team, the teaching staff and non-teaching staff; all have worked tirelessly to provide this safe place. Their hard work continues as we move forward.

Thank you to you too, for helping us all by complying with social distancing measures when dropping off and collecting your children. Thank you for continuing to reinforce the importance of hand washing; these simple measures are very effective and make a real difference.

With some easing of restrictions; the Government has expressed their desire for us to re-open the school, albeit in a very reduced way. We are working towards this goal and will have in place all the necessary measures to make the environment as safe as possible. You will have been notified by the school if your child’s yeargroup is one of those returning on 1st June. As yet, there is no further guidance regarding other year groups being accommodated but the policies are changing and adapting almost continuously. Please keep a look out for the latest bulletins/updates on our website as these are the most current source of information and advice.
